Introducing The Shoppe: Our New Vegan Sandwich + Ice Cream Destination

We are proud to announce the imminent unveiling of our new WESTSIDE SHOPPE which is scheduled to open in December (but could open as late as January) and will serve a delicious array of vegan and organic sandwiches, salads, and desserts - including gelato, frozen yogurt, sorbet, sherbet, and much, much more! With your support, the shop WILL be open to the public soon and we can't wait to bring some new and amazing grub (which also happens to be vegan and organic) to Los Angeles proper.

Although we have experienced new partners and an amazing team to support us, our enthusiasm and confidence in this project has inspired us to push forward and seek creative ways to enlist the support of all of you who share our passion and compassion. With your help, we can ensure that this sweet dream comes true and have created a campaign to build excitement and share the joy of this endeavor with all of the wonderful people who have supported us over the last six years, and also to encourage support from others who share our passion and believe "the shoppe" will make the world a better place.

As those of you who know us know, our time in Tarzana has been an adventure: a chain of amazing, inspiring, terrifying, unconventional, and sometimes seemingly random events. A journey for the hopelessly inspired and passionate (or truly insane) people that we are. We have devoted ourselves to creating a space and a cuisine for the mainstream so that a diet and lifestyle that was once considered "alternative" can in fact become common and widely enjoyed. Because we can. Because we must. Because we have been told again and again by our guests that "if I could eat like this everyday - I'd be vegan". Because a plant-based diet is better for everyone: the planet and all of its inhabitants. Because we are parents and this is our legacy to the four vegan children we adore. Because we want them to experience every kind of culinary experience from dive to divine (and all by doing no harm). Because we like CHOCOLATE Halloween candy, and ice cream cakes, and loads of other things that CAN be vegan AND awesome.

We are driven to contribute, to create, to change the world for our children and all children (and adults too). And we believe there is powerful potential to change the world one bite at a time. We are committed to creating a dining experience that transcends what is now "the norm". And we invite you all to join us. We are eternally thankful for your support which has encouraged and inspired us to continue on this path despite the obstacles we have encountered along the way. We look forward to serving you and the world for years to come.

We value every contribution and in exchange for your support we are offering a 10% discount at madeleine bistro to every donor; no matter how large or small of a donation you choose to make. Our goal is to reach as many people as possible; to build a powerful force of positivity to guide this vision to reality and your encouragement and support moves us forward. Please rest assured that if "the shoppe" does not open, all donations will be returned (and the Westside will have to wait). If you do choose to contribute, we promise that sweet rewards await you.

PLUS: we will cater an ice-cream & sandwich party for up to 10 guests at a location of your choice (distance limited to within 30 mile radius).

$3,500.00: Receive a card for one free dessert each month for one year, an invitation for two to attend our private opening week celebration, and recognition in our shop and on our website as one of our “founding family” members. PLUS: we will host a private cooking class at our in your honor at our Tarzana location for up to 12 guests.

PLUS: a three-course meal for up to 6 guests prepared by Chef David at your home (limited to residency within 60 mile radius).

PLUS: a cocktail party catered by Chef David at your home (or venue of choice) for up to 50 guests. (distance limited to 60 mile radius).
