VegNews Magazine - March/April 2006: "VegReview: Madeleine Bistro"
"At Madeleine's helm are David and Molly Anderson, former executive chef and general
manager, respectively, at Real Food Daily, another first-rate, though casual Los
Angeles vegan restaurant. Driving off the Real Food reservation, however, the
Andersons have made a culinary left-turn towards a star-speckled, high desert of
creativity and elegance. Where else could one find an appetizer described as a “Study
in Corn”? This edible work of art consists of four amuse-bouches made entirely of, you
guessed it, corn: Corn Cappuccino, Corn Foam, Corn French Fries and Corn Ice
Cream. The particularly enjoyable cappuccino went down like smooth, buttery chowder.
The French fries, made of polenta, were entirely palate-pleasing with the exact crunchy,
salty goodness of your perfect crinkly fry..."

Yogi Times - February 2006: "Food for Love"
"Frankly, Madeleine is at the top of its class in not just organic vegan food, but in food,
period. Here, veganism holds the same broad scope possibilities in taste adventuring
that other cuisines do - and all this while hurting no living creature in its making. Talk
about love..."

Whole Life Times - December 2005: "La Dolce Vegan"
"At first glance, chef Dave Anderson, innovator behind some of the country’s most
cutting-edge vegan cuisine, seems an unlikely visionary. In a profession—and a city—
notorious for drama and egotism, he’s warm, modest and disarmingly sincere. And
though his flagship restaurant, Madeleine Bistro, has done brisk business since its
quiet opening last spring—with weekends strictly reservations-only and a steady stream
of celebrity clientele (most recently, to Anderson’s unfettered delight, Sir Paul
McCartney)—its Tarzana location has allowed it to retain at least the feeling of being
largely undiscovered..."

Vegetarians in Paradise - July 2005: "Dining in Paradise: Madeleine Bistro"
"Vegetarian Los Angeles has at last come of age! While we can boast of many veg
eateries throughout the county, none have offered upscale, sophisticated French style
vegan cuisine with elegant presentations that rival those of noted chefs like Joachim
Splichal, Mark Peel, or Michel Richard. That is, until now..."
